The chronicle of a child of the world

Welcomed to the world by the cold hands of poverty
Relied on the mammary gland for nutrients for her first year
Hardly weaned when she has to face it on her own
By sheer luck, she made it through infancy
And as soon as she was old enough to fetch water
She was whisked away to the city
As the latest house-help, she had her two introductory weeks
As soon as the fanfare fades away
She was woken to the realisation of her new challenge
Faced with task even grown-up consider; tedious
Made a decision that changed her life forever
Resolved to make the best of her situation
She took on her shores like she has a phobia for playground
Though envious of her peers in the house, she cannot help but look away
In no time she can compete with the best cook in the house
Got the best of education she can from the public school nearby
As she progressed through the years,
She became the darling of all lover of hard work in the house
Resented by the lazy bones that comb the street by day and browse internet by night
She met the man of her dream, tied the knot and lived happily after
She is a child of the world and rode her horse of freedom to the envy of many!
